The Siglent SLA1016 is a high-performance 16-channel logic probe designed for use with Siglent mixed signal oscilloscopes. It allows you to simultaneously capture and analyze both analog and digital signals, providing deep insight into today’s complex embedded designs.

Firmware Upgrade Information

To ensure full functionality, the SLA1016 requires the correct digital firmware in addition to the oscilloscope’s main system firmware.

  • The latest release, Version 8.2.3 (January 2024), adds support for SDS1000X HD and SDS800X HD series scopes.

  • Older revisions, such as 8.1.16 (May 2019), optimized the FPGA and fixed MSO measurement bugs.

  • Versions earlier than 8.1.16 are only compatible with specific oscilloscope firmware and must be upgraded in stages.

Compatibility Highlights

  • SDS1000X HD / SDS800X HD: Requires SLA1016 v8.2.3 with scope firmware ≥ v1.1.0.2.

  • SDS2000X-E: Compatible with SLA1016 v8.1.16 when scope firmware ≥ v1.1.19R2.

  • SDS1000X-E: Compatible with SLA1016 v8.1.16 when scope firmware ≥ v6.1.33.

Update Instructions

  • Always check your scope’s firmware version before upgrading the SLA1016.

  • If your SLA1016 is older than v8.1.16, it must first be updated using an older compatible scope (SDS1000X-E < v6.1.33 or SDS2000X-E < v1.1.18).

  • After updating the SLA1016, you can then safely upgrade the oscilloscope to the latest firmware.

  • Updates are applied through the oscilloscope’s Digital → System → Upgrade menu using a FAT32-formatted USB stick.

With the correct firmware installed, the SLA1016 unlocks reliable digital acquisition and full MSO capabilities on your Siglent oscilloscope.
